Untold incidents of Gandhi's life

'Bapu'(father) of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi was self made man. In the initial era of his life Gandhi had stage phobia and was unsuited for addressing public in conferences. He transformed himself and emerged as most influential public speaker. Gandhi moved the stairs of success by beating every obstacle in his path. In following incidents you will understand how Gandhi was different from other denizens.

Incident-1 While he was in London, chairman of council advised him to address the public about his experiences behind founding this organisation. That night even after having speech written he was not able to deliver the speech in Vegetarian council.

Gandhi had many universally accepted qualities since his childhood like truth, service for diseased family member, experimental mind etc.
Incident-2 Once in his school external teachers  came for inspection. Gandhi wrote spelling of kettle wrong, his teacher pointed him to cheat from adjacent student but Gandhi didn't.

How Gandhi was different from common men?
Gandhi was a man of strong character who always treated 'Truth as God'. Gandhi never lied but he was expert in skill of speaking. he exactly knew what to say, when to say. His narrative skills were amazing because he understood the minds of public well.
Incident-3 while in Champaran British officials forced him to leave the place, issue went to court and Gandhi was asked by judge to explain himself, why should he not be charged for disturbing public order. Gandhi articulated 'This is my country (motherland), well studied person like Me have debt to help poor people who can't help themselves. I just came here for enquiry regarding situation of Indigo planting labours. I am basically helping British administration in their duty. Can you charge for being responsible citizen?".
Incident-4 while Gandhi was in London, a lady was attracted to him and she wanted Gandhi to meet ladies to marry a British White girl. But Gandhi in written letter propounded that " mam I am already married in India, child marriage here is just concept but it is practiced in India".

Gandhi always stood up for his opinions even though sometimes they were counter productive.
Incident-5 Gandhi helped Britishers in their recruitment campaign for World War-1 because he thought it is his duty towards British to help in their hard times though legends like Tilak were against this opinion.

Gandhi always had faith in common mob unlike everyone else at that time. He knew every bit of human character.
Incident-6 In Ahmdabad strike when days passed Gandhi knew labourers will end strike thus he started his fast to keep labourer's enthusiasm.

Gandhi was every keen about cleanliness and sanitation. He used to clean his latrine himself.
Incident-7 Gandhi cleaned slum areas with the help of his volunteers in a city of South Africa when black plague entered that municipality area.

Gandhi is not the person whom we know today, our knowledge is just a bucket in his ocean like life experiences. Following facts and incidents throws light on his daily life struggles.

Gandhi was studious person but not the syllabus books. Gandhi read books to perform dressing to diseased, learnt drycleaning of coat, even can cut his hair by his own etc.
Incident-8 Gandhi's friend gave him a book in which he read a concept that "agriculture is most Nobel profession in world" after reading book Gandhi opened agricultural farm in south Africa.
Incident-9 Gandhi himself performed delivery of his child when his wife was pregnant which he learnt by reading a book.

Gandhi was vegetarian and always experimented with his diet. He even tried all fruit diet, only oats diet, even tried to find substitute for milk etc.
Incident-10 once doctor said Gandhi that meat is necessary for your faster recovery. Everyone requested him but he was ready to die but not take non veg.

Gandhi's life is true inspiration for the youth. He was way ahead of his time and considered as most experimental person ever lived on this planet. His spiritual knowledge is truly phenomenal. Its not possible for me to write all incidents here but I want to end with Gandhi's message. " Not just read the books, Experiment the ideas of author ".

  1. Hii,
What I have realized after reading this article is you pointing out various incidents from Gandhi ji's life is quite impressive. But I think you have done this in a very haphazard manner. If you had pointed out only few may be 3-4 incidents and talked about them in detailed manner then it would have been more helpful. In this article I think you have put forward your opinions rather that giving us complete facts.
    Thankyou

Dying Media

Freedom of press is insured under Article 19(1)(a) which deals with ‘Protection of certain rights regarding freedom of speech’ but is our press really free? The Land of Truth where newspapers like ‘Keshari’ of Lokmaniya Tilak, ‘Young India’ of Gandhi aroused the feelings of Nationalism and fought for the Plight of Farmers suffering from Fifty Four types of Taxes under British Raj. How could anyone believe that not even a single ‘Media House’ of such a country is in Top 500 TV channels of the world? Aren’t the journalism already dead in our country? Media is considered as fourth pillar of Democracy after Legislative, Executive and Judiciary. I am certain that it is a foreign concept because Television Media is just a puppetry show in India. In last year’s Media reports analysis it was mentioned that renowned News channels like Aajtak has broadcasted more than 6 debates on India vs Pakistan and Hindu-Muslim issues out of 10 debates which clearly propounds that they have concentrated them...
